Release & Source Notes

  • Exact hardware temperature readings are not available in the Mac App Store build. The App Store build uses Apple's public thermal state.
  • The Mac App Store build shows aggregate CPU and per-core activity, not a system-wide process list. Use Apple's Activity Monitor for detailed per-process investigation.
  • Some GPU, battery, power, disk, and network values depend on what your Mac and macOS version expose.
  • The active network speed test is not the same as speedtest.net. Results can differ because it uses Cloudflare endpoints and a lightweight in-app method.
  • Disk benchmarks write temporary files and require enough free space on the selected disk.
  • Upgrade Advisor needs at least 30 minutes of representative work and 70% sampling coverage before it can support a hardware recommendation.
  • Upgrade Advisor identifies only the hardware dimension supported by aggregate evidence. It cannot identify which app caused a slowdown, read exact hardware temperatures, guarantee a speed-up, or recommend a specific Mac model.
